Stripped Paint Becomes Graphic Art
I love those days when I’m walking around and noticing the small things that make the world more interesting. My eye isn’t always prepared to notice these mistakes or nuances, but I’m especially pleased with life when I’m able to find them. I get inspired and feel slightly more creative in these moments. This is probably too much of a dramatic intro for what I’m about to share, but this image made me feel this way and I want to at least share my thoughts on the subject.

This image is another photo of a wall in Williamsburg, NY. It was completely crumbling and the paint was halfway stripped off and the negative space created a face.

I’ve been traveling in New York the past 10 days and haven’t had much time for creative work. Alternatively, I’m experiencing plenty of creative inspiration from my surroundings. The fashion (it happened to be New York Fashion Week, lucky me), the graffiti, the grime and dirt, architecture, interior design, museums. It’s kind of like a system overload. I didn’t bring a fancy camera, but I snapped a few inspirations along the way. This post contains images found only in Brooklyn, just a few blocks from where I was staying. Definitely more to come.
